BI Communications is delighted to announce that our hand-held Time Domain Reflectometer - the TX Ranger has been entrusted by British aviation engineers to help locate cable faults in aircraft. With the ability to store and compare old and new trace data, the TX Ranger has been valuable in locating developing faults within the onboard cockpit avionic system.

Designed to be used with the TX range of Time Domain Reflectometers, the BI Communications blocking filter safety enables engineers to run tests on powered cables with up to a maximum of 600 volts CAT IV. This perfect pairing is ideal for use on street lighting and power distribution cabinets as well as de-energized cables.

Engineers servicing the World Famous 200mph Bullet Train of Japan, chose the Faultcaster Professional Digital Time Domain Reflectometer to successfully locate faults within the trains communication cables. The Faultcaster TDR identified which section of the train the damaged cable was located eliminating the need to separate the individual carriages, resulting in a faster return to the tracks.
